Sensor, Electro-Acoustics Technology Lab

Noori Kim, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, School of Engineering Technology
Purdue University

Sensor, Electro-Acoustics Technology(SEAT) Lab is a research group at Purdue University directed by Dr Noori Kim. Our mission is to develop useful sensor technologies in the field of Electro-Acoustics and beyond, which can benefit individuals, communities, and society.

The SEAT director, Dr Noori Kim, assistant professor of engineering technology, earned her PhD in electrical computer engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and worked as a research fellow in the Mechanical and Aerospace engineering department at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). Dr Kim received her BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from Ewha Woman’s University in South Korea.  Prior to joining Purdue University, she served as an assistant professor at Newcastle University in Singapore (NUIS) and Digipen Institute of Technology Singapore in the Electrical Computer Engineering department. She also served as a chair of IEEE Women in Engineering Singapore Affinity group in 2021-22.

Based on her multidisciplinary background, her general research interests are Sensor systems applied in Biomedical Healthcare, Electro-acoustics, microfluidics, and Embedded Systems (IoT), which spans computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering systems.
